Welcome to Otakon!

Founded in 1994, Otakon is an annual convention held in the summer months to celebrate Asian pop culture (anime, manga, music, movies, video games, etc) and its fandom. The event runs from Friday to Sunday and is packed with a schedule that has tons to do.

Otakon is held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in our nation's capital of Washington, DC.

Message From Our Chairman

Thank you for attending Otakon 2019!

On behalf of myself and the entire staff of Otakon we would like to say thank you for coming and helping to make another great year at Otakon! Whether this was your first visit, or your 26th, you are the reason we keep working harder each year to make the best Otakon yet.

A very special thanks to the Embassy of Japan, the Library of Congress, and the National Gallery of Art for their involvement this year.

We would also like to thank the entire staff at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Destination D.C. and our hotel partners for providing Otakon and our members a place to live, play, and work.

Come see us again next year!

Mata kondo,

-- Andy Zerrlaut, Otakon 2019 Convention Chairman
