Matsuri at Otakon!

Otakon is proud to present the Matsuri, returning for our second year outdoors in DC!

The Matsuri will run from 4-8pm on August 7, 2025, with fun for all ages.  

Food will be available for purchase from food trucks, and there will be giveaways galore.

Join us for free activities including:

• Crafts 
• Yard games 
• Carnival activities
• Photo Ops
• Main Stage performances ranging from concerts and idol performances to cultural guests

Come share a memory, test your skills at traditional cultural carnival games, and learn more about Otakon as you connect with our partners including the Embassy of Japan, Japan-American Society of Washington DC (JASWDC), Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Program, and more! Explore East Asian culture as you learn to make hand drums, do traditional braiding, or create at any of our crafting booths. Or you can grab a bite at one of the food trucks we’ll have there all afternoon, as you play some giant versions of your favorite games.
