Time to Rock Away All Your Blues
It's almost that time again where we break out our dance shoes and dance the night away at Otakon!
This year we are calling the Independence A-D at Marriott Marquis home. Just like last year you will need to be 18+ enter and 21 if you wish to drink. So please have your ID on you or we will have to turn you away at the door.
For those who want to learn to dance or just want a refresher we are continuing the tradition of holding two dance lessons each night. The first lesson will take place from 7:00 to around 7:45 with the second lesson starting at 8:00 and running until 8:45. Now, if you don’t want to dance but want to enjoy the music you are more than welcome! Feel free to bring card or board games you may enjoy.
This year we have a bit of a treat for everyone. We will host not one but two bands! One on friday and one on Saturday. So stay tuned for the announcements and let's spread the word!
Friday and Saturday schedule:
Location: Independence A-D.
In closing we would like to take a moment to thank all of you for making this event a success year after year. Without all of you who come to dance and enjoy the music we could not continue to grow this event. Thank you!
We look forward to seeing everyone on the dance floor!

Based out of Baltimore and Washington, D. C., Charm City Stomp is a 6-piece ensemble specializing in traditional jazz and occasionally expanding into blues, R&B, and funk territory. The band features some of D.C. and Baltimore's best talents, including vocalist Betsy Kipperman, trumpeter and singer Joseph Brotherton, saxophonist Brian Falkowski, drummer Kelton Norris, bassist Robin Rhodes, and pianist Alex Abdoulaev. Charm City Stomp draws on its experiences in cabaret, early and contemporary jazz, and classical music to create an energetic sound with a flair for the dramatic.
Charm City Stomp has performed extensively throughout the Baltimore, Washington, and Philadelphia areas, with performances at Mobtown Ballroom, DC Lindy Exchange, and more. This is Charm City Stomp's second time at Otakon, and they are excited to contribute to the festivities once again this year.
