The Otakon 2027 Hotel Block
Let’s answer your burning questions about the room block, waitlist, and booking process.
Official Maritz / Experient Housing Link
The official Otakon room block is live. Book your stay early for best rates and availability.
• Is there a deposit when booking hotels?
No.
• Last date for hotel cancellations without incurring fees?
May 10th. Any cancellations after May 10th will incur a non-refundable cancellation fee equal to one room night + tax.
• Which hotels are in our room block?
You can preview and select all available hotels directly in the booking portal. Remember that additional hotels are added throughout the year!
• What if I get kicked out of my browser?
Unfortunately if you are kicked from the queue you will need to re-enter. It will not save your place in “line”. You should not be kicked unless you have a wifi or power outage on your end. The new system is formulated to avoid servers getting overwhelmed.
• What if I don't get my preferred hotel?
While going through the process, you will have the opportunity to be added to a waitlist for your preferred hotel. As rooms cancel or are switched, our housing partner will make the changes to your preferred hotel automatically and notify you of the changes. You will not be notified until after the change has occurred
• How many hotel rooms can I reserve?
You are limited to reserving two hotel rooms per web entry.
• Are people limited to 1 room reservation or 2 rooms?
2 rooms per reservation, one reservation per web entry
• How long do I have to fill out my reservation?
You will have a 10 minute timer to fill out all details, so be prepared!
• Do you need to know all the names of your roommates to register?
No! But, we strongly suggest that you put down as many names as you need spaces for beds. Hotels do something called “run-of-house”, where they audit the number of names on a room. If you go to reserve a room for four people, requesting two beds, but only put two names, hotels will often switch you to a smaller number of beds to make room for larger parties. This is not something we have any control over, and again we advise putting as many names on the reservation as you expect to room with you.
• Why does Otakon even have a room block?
An event as large as Otakon allows us to secure discounts on hotel rooms for our attendees. Otakon doesn’t make money from this, but you save money. The more people who take advantage of the Otakon hotel block, the better discounts we can negotiate from year to year.
