Hidetaka Tenjin

Official Macross Visual Artist

Hidetaka Tenjin works primarily as an illustrator, designer, and concept artist and has provided illustrations for model kits ranging from Hasegawa's MACROSS line to BANDAI SPIRITS' GUNDAM and STAR WARS lines. His most notable contributions to anime include mechanical art for MACROSS ZERO, MACROSS FRONTIER, AQUARION, and creating mechanical designs for HELLSING, MACROSS DELTA, KNIGHT'S & MAGIC, SUPER ROBOT WARS T, BACK ARROW, and YASUKE. He also provided mechanical imagery and animation direction on STAR BLAZERS: SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO 2205.

Most recently, in 2022, he designed a four-legged robot for Sansei Technologies and was also the recipient of Comic-Con International's prestigious Inkpot Award. Six volumes of his collected works have been released, five in Japan and one internationally.
