Portable Kaiju Super Battle League

Once Again this year the Portable Kaiju Super Battle League and Team Fan will be battling for control of Otakon, Last year Team fan won, so it's up to you to pick a side and help decide the fate of Pokémon battling at Otakon. Will you fight help restore the prestige of the amazing Kaiju League or to continue the glory of the Unflappable Team Fan!


This year we will use Pokémon Scarlet and Violet for the Nintendo Switch. You are welcome to challenge any Battle Master or team Fan Grunt, however beating someone from the opposite team will gain points for your team! If you can collect 8 badges on Saturday night the Serious Shi will be available to truly test your abilities as a trainer if you make it past them then prepare to battle each other on Sunday to crown a new league, Champion! (League Champion will get Free membership for Otakon 2024)

 

The rules for this year’s tournament are as follows:

  1. This is a for fun event (it’s okay to take it seriously, especially the championship tournament, but remember the Battle Masters & Team Fan members are there to help you have fun.)

  2. Make sure to update your game before coming to Otakon (you don’t have to have the expansions, but as long as your game is up to date everyone will be able to use any available Pokémon)

  3. All matches are 4v4 doubles with all Pokémon set to lvl 50

  4. You may have a team of 9 Pokémon, with 4 main Pokémon and 5 alternates

  5. Duplicate Pokémon are not allowed (exception: Pokémon with multiple forms like Toxtricity, with its amped and low key forms or Lycanroc would be fine as well as different Alolan, Kantonian, or Galarian, Husuian, and  Paldean forms. However a Pokémon with different Tera types would not be allowed

  6. Multiple items are not allowed in play at the same time example: you could have both a Vaporeon and Snorlax with leftovers so long as they are both aren’t used in the same match.

  7. A trainer can only put one opposing Pokémon to sleep at a time.

  8. You may have only one Paradox Pokémon in a battle(so you can have multiple in your set of 9 but only use one per battle).

  9. Gym leaders may have one banned or two paradox Pokémon in there team.

Bonus Tournament Rules

You don’t have to participate in the weekend tournament to participate in these tournaments.

Winners will get a special prize!!

Friday afternoon Little Cup: any four Pokémon in the first form of a 3-phase evolutionary line, no duplicate items.

Saturday morning Tag tournament: pick any two legal Pokémon find a partner and your team will battle your way to the top ,(one paradox Pokémon per player)

Saturday afternoon Metronome cup: any two Pokémon that can learn metronome, they must be modified to only know metronome no duplicate items, let the chaos rain!!!
