Welcome to the Otakon Press Information Page. Before beginning, review our Otakon Press Relations Policy for 2011. As last year, approved members of the Press will NOT need to register for an Otakon membership.
Application Procedure
Press interested in covering Otakon should apply in advance. The deadline is June 5.
Please read the requirements for Press applications carefully. If your application is missing anything, it may be denied or delayed.

What Happens Next?
After your complete application (initial application message and subsequent materials) has been reviewed and you are granted press access, you will receive a confirmation email. Please save the confirmation email because you will need to show it to pick up your Press access tag at Otakon.
If you are denied, you will receive notification.
Picking up Your Press Badge at Otakon
When you arrive at the convention, proceed directly to Press Operations, located in the Hilton, right next to the Baltimore Convention Center. Press badge pickup will begin on Thursday evening, at the same time pre-registration opens in the BCC. Bring your confirmation e-mail and your government-issued ID.
The Press badge must be carried at all times. Without your Press badge, you will not have access to the convention which includes Press seating at selected Otakon events, access to the Press Lounge, or the ability to request interviews with Guests.

After the convention, we will request a courtesy copy of your coverage for our records and to make future assessments on press access.
