It’s that time of year again; time to submit demos for Otakon’s Dance. Please be sure to read the stipulations before you submit a demo.

Otakorp, Inc. is the not-for-profit organization (501(c)(3)) best known for running Otakon, one of the world's premiere gatherings of fandom. It's an educational non-profit that promotes understanding and appreciation of Asian culture, by means of celebrating its popular culture. Otakon is a convention that is organized by volunteers, fans of the Asian culture. We have an average of 30,000 attendees over the course of a three day weekend. The Otakurave has an average attendance of 5,000 people per night.

If you are chosen to perform at the Otakurave event hosted by Otakon you will be provided a member’s badge for yourself and one guest as a “Thank you” for volunteering your services. You will be awarded one guest pass only. Information on how to obtain your guest pass will be e-mailed to you by the Dance Department Head upon your confirmation as a DJ at Otakon.

In order to be selected to DJ the Otakurave you will need to submit all of the information in the form below.

By submitting a demo you agree to the following: You are agreeing to volunteer your services as a performer/DJ. You understand that you will not be paid for your services. You agree to act, at all times, in a professional manor including the following expectations: Arrival to your assigned time slot on the appropriate day 15 minutes early Agree NOT to play music with offensive or vulgar (curse) words (children DO attend this event late into the evening) Agree NOT to incite or participate in crowd surfing Agree NOT to arrive to your assigned time slot inebriated (drugs or alcohol) nor consume substances on site which result in inebriation Agree to bring ONLY the guest which was approved prior to the convention If selected YOU are solely responsible for loss of damage to any personal property brought to or used at the Convention, including the Otakurave event. Otakon & Otakorp, Inc is NOT responsible for any loss or damages uncured to personal property. You are expected to use equipment provided by a pre-determined contractor of Otakon’s choosing during your performance. Equipment will include, at a minimum, CDJs, a mixer, monitors, and a sound technician. You may be liable for any damages caused by you to the provided equipment.
