Fan Panels make up a large part of Otakon's programming. Your panel ideas and your knowledge, talent, time and effort both before and during the Con helps us fulfill our motto..."For Fans... by fans". So, thank you prior panelists and perhaps we'll see you again this year. Prospective Panelists....be sure to read on for more details about becoming a Panelist at Otakon 2010.
Panels submissions will be taken at the following link:
Otakon 2010 Panels Application
We will accept submissions for 10 weeks from 02/08/10 to 04/18/10. We will not review the submissions until the end of that submission period. Please expect to hear back on whether or not your Panel was accepted within 4-6 weeks after the close of submissions. Late submissions will not be accepted or considered.
All Panel submissions must be made via the Otakon Panels Application. Panel submissions received through other means will not be considered.
Please make sure to fill out the application completely. Incomplete applications may not be considered.
If you are a returning Otakon Panelist (one who has successfully completed a Panel at a previous Otakon), please DO NOT Pre-Register. Returning Panelists are comped pre-con if their panel is accepted for this year’s Otakon (subject to the limits on the maximum number of Panelists). If you Pre-Register, you will have to submit for a post con membership refund (information on how to do so will be posted after this year’s Otakon).
If you are a new Otakon Panelist (one who has never successfully completed a Panel at a previous Otakon) please do Pre-Register. Upon successful completion of your Panel, you will submit for a post con membership refund (information on how to do so will be posted after this year’s Otakon).
There is a limit of 2 compensated panelists per panel.
There can be more than 2 panelists per panel, however....Only 2 will receive pre-con compensated memberships or post convention refunds.
Additional panelists will still be required to check-in at Panel Ops and fill out a waiver prior to the start of their panel.
Any panelists who have not checked in and/or completed their waiver prior to their panel may not be permitted to participate in the panel.
18+ Programming may contain graphic or obscene material unsuitable for minors, and is generally scheduled late in the evening. If you are unsure of whether your content is 18+, it probably is. Please err on the side of caution. If a panel submitted as "not 18+" is found to contain 18+ material, Otakon Panels staff reserve the right to shut down the panel in progress. A panel shut down while in progress will not be considered successfully run, and may lead to denial of membership reimbursements and future panel submissions.
